We are a people designed for His sake
Reflecting His love to the lost
Just like a lighthouse, we shine out to sea
As onto the rocks they are tossed
Able to rescue the broken and hurt
Providing a salve for their needs
The power of Jesus can do many things
If through Him, their hunger we feed.

But as we are insular, selfish and proud
We do not stray far from our church
Once we have satisfied all our desires
Exhausted, we drop from our perch
So let us consign all our self to the bin
Cause God cannot use us as such
Remember the vessels that we're sposed to be
And kick all of Me into touch.

Sometimes we are sad and broken hearted
And our pain's so hard to bare.
We may feel our life is shattered
With pieces strewn here and there.

We may feel our lifeboat's sinking
In the storm that's raging high.
We may reach out for safety
And find there's nothing nigh.

Christ is our lighthouse
With its lights shining bright.
So to Him just throw your anchor.
And He will fight your fight.

He will fight your battle
And calm your greatest fears.
Tell Him of your sorrows.
And He'll wipe away your tears.

The Lighthouse

Nearly two thousand years ago, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ walked on this earth His hands had made.  One day, while sitting on a mountain with His disciples, He said this:

"Ye are the light of the world.
A city situated on the top of a mountain cannot be hid,
nor do men light a lamp and put it under the bushel,
but upon the lamp-stand,
and it shines for all who are in the house.
Let your light thus shine before men,
so that they may see your upright works,
and glorify your Father who is in the heavens."
(Matthew 5:14-16)

A SIMPLE PRAYER

Happy moments, praise God.
Difficult moments, seek God.
Quiet moments, worship God.
Painful moments, trust God.
Every moment, thank God.

The Reverend Billy Graham uses Acts 4:12 as one of his favorite evangelistic messages. He once said, "The only way you can be converted is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. You don't have to straighten out your life first. You have tried that and failed many times. You can come 'just as you are.' The blind man, the leper, and the thief on the cross -- each came just as he was. You can come to Christ right now just as you are, and the angels of heaven will rejoice."

The simplicity of his message is compelling. Also the simplicity of the message of the disciples was compelling: "There is no other name under heaven .
by which we must be saved!" (Acts 4:12). Period!

Remember.....
In the times of high tide or low tide,
never fear he will always be there for you,
just as he said he would.

"I am the light of the world;
he that follows me shall not walk in darkness,
but shall have the light of life."
— Jesus (John 8:12)

There's a lighthouse on a hillside
that overlooks life's sea.
When I'm tossed He sends out a light,
light that I might see.
And the light that shines in darkness now
Will safely lead me on
If it wasn't for the lighthouse
This ship would sail no more.

Oh I thank God for the lighthouse
I owe my life to Him
King Jesus is the lighthouse
Upon the rocks of sin
He has shone a light around me
That I could clearly see
If it wasn't for the lighthouse
Then where would this ship be.

Everybody that lives around us
says tear the lighthouse down
You know the big ships
they don't sail by this way no more
so what's the use of it standing 'round?
Ahh, but then my mind goes way on back
to that stormy night,
when just in time, oh thank God I saw the light
T'was the light from that old lighthouse
that still stands up there on a hill.

Oh I thank God for the lighthouse
I owe my life to Him
King Jesus is the lighthouse
Upon the rocks of sin
He has shone a light around me
That I could clearly see
If it wasn't for the lighthouse
Then where would this ship be.

Oh, If it wasn't for the lighthouse
Then where would this ship be.
