My Weekly "To Do" List

Thoughts for daily to do list for your heart & soul...

Monday - Wash Day
Lord, help me to wash away all my selfishness and vanity,
so I may serve You with perfect humility through the week ahead.

Isaiah 59:1.BEHOLD, THE Lord's hand is not shortened at all, that it cannot save, nor His ear dull with deafness, that it cannot hear.
Isaiah 59:2. But your iniqiuties have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear.

Tuesday - Ironing Day
Dear Lord, help me to iron out all the wrinkles of prejudice
I have collected through the years so that I may see
the beauty in others.

Matthew 22:39 “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.’ And, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.

Acts 10:34 Peter then said:
Now I am certain that God treats all people alike.

Wednesday - Mending Day
O God, help me to mend my ways so I will not set bad example for others.

Matthew 4 KJV

The Temptation of Jesus
(also see Mk. 1.12, 13 · Lk. 4.1-13 )

1  Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. Heb. 2.18 ; 4.15
2  And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward a hungered.
3  And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
4  But he answered and said, It is written,
Man shall not live by bread alone,
but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Deut. 8.3
5  Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
6  and saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written,
He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: Ps. 91.11
and in their hands they shall bear thee up,
lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Ps. 91.12
7  Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. Deut. 6.16
8  Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and showeth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
9  and saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10  Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written,
Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Deut. 6.13
11  Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

Thursday - Cleaning Day
Lord Jesus, help me to dust out all the many faults
I have been hiding in the secret corners of my heart.

James 5:16: "Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed."

Friday - Shopping Day
O God, give me the grace to shop wisely
so I may purchase eternal happiness for myself
and all others in need of love.

Jesus tells us we have to pray always, continually, without ceasing (Lk.18:1)

Ephesians  16Be joyful always; 17pray continually; 18give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. (1Thes.5:16-18).
It is the "formula of happiness" of the Bible:  Be joyful always!... the way to be joyful is to pray constantly... and the way to pray constantly is give thanks to God always, in all circumstances, for everything.
20always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephe.5:20).

Saturday - Cooking Day
Help me, my Savior, to brew
a big kettle of brotherly love and serve it
with clean, sweet bread of human kindness.

Jesus said,"YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND." (Matthew 22:37)9 He then added that the second most important law was "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF." Jesus said that the entire law was dependent upon these two commandments.

Sunday - The Lord's Day
O God, I have prepared my house for You.
Please come into my heart as my Honored Guest
so I may spend the day and the rest of my life in Your presence.

God has prepared a home in heaven for those who prepare their ways before the Lord (Matt. 25:34). But for those who prepare their ways before the world, God has prepared everlasting punishment (Matt. 25:41, 46).

Ezekiel 34:26 (King James Version)

26And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing.

Music Playing: Showers of Blessing
"There shall be showers of blessing"
This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Saviour above.

Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need:
Mercy drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.

"There shall be showers of blessing,"
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain.

"There shall be showers of blessing,"
Send them upon us, O Lord;
Grant to us now a refreshing,
Come, and now honor thy Word.

"There shall be showers of blessing,"
Oh, that today they might fall,
Now as to God we're confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!
